Voices from our community.

The only group I refuse to miss. I have closed three deals a year because of this room — for fourteen years running. There is nothing else like it in the city.

I have been to every networking group in San Diego. Cufflinks is the only one where I actually want to be in the room — and the only one my partners ask me to bring them to.

The Annual Gala is the night San Diego dresses up. I plan my October around it. Membership pays for itself before the bar even opens.

Common questions

Questions Regarding San Diego Networking Events?

Is membership reviewed? add

Yes, our membership committee meticulously reviews every application. We consider professional standing, community involvement, and overall fit. Approximately 80% of applications are approved; rejections include feedback and an invitation to re-apply later.

What's the dress code? add

Cocktail attire is appropriate for most monthly San Diego Business Networking Groups; black-tie is required for the Annual Gala (dress codes are announced 60 days prior). The

Can I bring guests? add

Society members may bring one professional guest per event at the member rate. Patron members can invite up to two. The Annual Gala and Holiday Reception extend plus-one invitations to all members. We expect members to ensure guest quality, as guest conduct reflects on the host.

Can I attend before joining? add

Indeed. The List tier is free and provides weekly event updates. Many prospective members attend two events as paid guests before seeking full membership — this is our recommended approach. We value engaged members who have experienced our San Diego Business Networking Groups over those who join without prior exposure.

What happens if an event sells out? add

We maintain a waitlist on each event page. Cancellations typically free up seats 48 hours before the event; we notify interested parties via SMS. Members receive priority access to these waitlists.

Is there a corporate or team option? add

Absolutely. Businesses can purchase 3, 5, or 10-seat memberships at a reduced rate, including shared access to the directory and tailored team introductions. Contact our partnerships team for the corporate membership overview.

Can my company sponsor an event? add

On a selective basis. We host between two to four sponsor partner events annually. Sponsorship opportunities span from venue underwriting to hosted cocktail receptions or break sponsorships at the Spring Summit. We are very particular about brand alignment; we have declined sponsorship offers when the brand didn't resonate with our community.

How is this different from a chamber? add

Smaller rooms. Curated guest lists. Premium venues. A focus on relationship density rather than headcount. Chambers are excellent for civic engagement and brand visibility; Cufflinks Events is built for the relationships that compound over years.
